So remember that 'difference' I wanted you to spot

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 6, 2012, 9:21 PM

So do you remember these I made awhile ago? Well, why I bring it up is because.. well. nothing is going on and I don't need to make any journals (and I want this to stay on my front page for a few days atleast lol). So, again, what is the difference?

The difference?

Nothing. They're both traced.

The bending forward is traced off of an animu picture. The bending backwards one, was traced over some real life stock. But yet, the 'original' is viewed as 'accepted' in this community while 'animu trace' is considered a no no. So apparently if you trace for an 'original' picture then it is not viewed as 'bad' but if you trace some stupid animu shit then you're viewed as demon shit spawn from the seventh hell of shitfuck. All you're taking is the 'pose' of the picture, as shown by this 'original' base. But if it's anime then you're stealing the picture as a whole and claiming the whole fuck as yours so it seems.

Just thought I'd say it now.

WHY IS THIS SO TRUE?!

I think it's more the using without prior permission that gets people. At least...I hope that's the reasoning. o_0;;

But, yeah. Tracing when you have permission as opposed to when you don't is different (for me, at least). I think it's kinda the same as how we view frankendolling 'cause you're taking someone else's work to make your own base.

Dunno. Just my thoughts.

Perfectly fine! Reasonable and understandable. I always thought Frakendolling was like.. when you use two different bases to make one doll. I never thought it'd be for making your own base, now that's kinda stupid. O.O

It's often edited in terminology to "frankenbase" over "frankendoll", but.

I used "seventh hell of shitfuck" today and I thought of you xD
Also really, I've been around for 6 fricken years dolling and I think it's absolutely ridiculous that the traced/original war thing is still going on. I mean, yeah I don't want to see a bunch of crappily traced anime bases everywhere but it's just what some people do and I don't go around flaming them about it. To be honest, a lot of your 'traced' work I can't even tell is traced so, I still think you're awesome personally *shrug*
Live and let live I say xD
In any case, don't let anyone tell you you're anything less than epic.

Awesome experiment!
And I've noticed that too :/

At the same time though....I feel silly XD. Cause I always thought that the original was original (And hey I'm sure you could even do that pose over from a sketch of yours  You're totes talented enough bbycakes~~) and the other was traced o3o.

Beautiful experiment. I'm gonna do sketches I swear soon and put up some more for original bases.
